Smith’s olde bar always has something going on. From live music to comedy shows watch their calendar for a variety of events. The vibe of the bar is always laid back, but the crowd varies wildly depending on the events and/or night. Like trivia attracts a crowd that has just reached legal drinking age. Post 30s will feel ancient among these youngsters. If anyone reads this and is like “ah, that’s how I like it”, don’t be a creep. If there is a major game on, there’s going to be people yelling sports things. They have pool tables, a patio, and tvs. Additional rooms for events are also on premises. The food is decent and the drinks are standard for a dive bar. I liked the pretzel bites. They were actually bite size. There is plenty of free parking across the street in the Ansley mall parking lot. Pay attention to signage.

This is probably my favorite neighborhood bar and pool room in Atlanta. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced and good variety. Thursday night trivia is a real treat and the place was full. Music upstairs is good. Why are there names on the bar?

I have been here for shows and not food so I cannot rate food. I come here for the concerts. Smith's Olde Bar is a great cozy venue for seeing such shows. The parking is easy at the nearby Ansley Mall

My brother-in-law came in from Pittsburgh and we decided to watch the Steelers play here. Great atmosphere with a lot of energy. HERE WE GO!! Gabby was our waitress/bartender and was constantly checking on us! Great service. Great wings. We split 24 with Buffalo and lemon pepper. Wide selection of beers. My one complaint: we are watching a live football game and three guys in the back of the room were watching the same game on a tablet. They were 10 seconds ahead of us so they would cheer before we saw what happened. Why would you go to a bar to watch a game on your little tablet? Chalk it up to yet someone else who is unaware of their surroundings and inconsiderate to others.

I caught the Vopli Vidopliassova show at Smith Olde Bar. It's a solid mid-size venue with ample room for a crowd of 100+. I was impressed with the acoustics—the sound quality was consistently good whether I was near the stage or at the back of the room.

Around 2pm on my personal Tuesdays the food always hits. It gives me a Chance to catch a quick vibe aswell. I enjoyed the quesadillas and the sliders. I had other options before, but the happy hour amazing. Also thank you michaiel for the conversations he knows how to interact with everyone about everything.

I finally made my way to Smith’s Olde Bar after hearing about it for years, and now I get why people talk about it like an Atlanta staple. Walking in feels like stepping into a place that’s been part of the city’s heartbeat for a long time — the slightly worn wood, the posters layered on the walls, the dim lighting that somehow makes everyone look cooler. It has that effortless, old-school charm that newer spots try to imitate but never quite nail. My friends and I came for a casual night out, not even realizing there was a band playing upstairs. We started in the main bar area with a couple of drinks and some bar food — I got the chicken tenders and split a quesadilla with a friend. Nothing fancy, just the kind of satisfying, salty, comforting food that works perfectly with a cold drink and good company. The bartenders were friendly without being over the top, and the crowd was a mix of long-time regulars and people like us who just wanted a relaxed night. Once the show started upstairs, we wandered up, and that’s when the vibe shifted in the best way. The room is intimate enough that you actually feel connected to the band, and the energy was contagious. It reminded me of the kind of local music rooms I used to stumble into in college — small, loud, a little gritty, but full of soul. If you’re looking for something polished and quiet, this isn’t your place. But if you want good music, good drinks, and a spot that actually feels like Atlanta, Smith’s Olde Bar is absolutely worth the visit. I left already planning my next trip back.

I stopped in here for a snack today. I'm honestly shocked I've never been here before in my six years living in Atlanta. What a neighborhood and citywide gem and Atlanta cultural staple and icon! Such fantastic music, amenities, service, food, vibes - the works! They have an absolutely excellent set up for live music and I will definitely need to catch a show here soon! Tons of TVs, lots on billiards tables, darts, and everything you could ask for to have a great time with excellent people in Atlanta. Unbeatable prices, too! Mikhail is an absolutely terrific representative of the SOB brand and its dedication to the people and culture of Atlanta. Five Stars without a doubt!
